"IWSC - WORK SHOPS" I - Exchanging Racing Techniques



Dear Friends,

We have sent you the programme and we will keep you informed about what are the additionals and changements if there are any..

Now, We announce that one of the workshops; "Workshops Exchanging Racing Techniques" This work shop will take place between 25 sept. - 28 September just before IWSC races begin.

The programme will start from 25 September till 28 September.

Please note that: As you know; all the yachts that participate the IWSC 2007, have free mooring between 27 September till 5 October ( The yachts leave D-Marin 6 October)

So; 25 and 26 September the mooring of the boats at D-Marin Turgutreis Marina are not free.

Workshops Exchanging Racing Techniques
‘Acting as a team, needs more than wearing equal T-shirts!’

Tuesday evening 25 September 20.00-22.00 hrs
At one of our ships (Cognac), or ashore in saloon TBYC Turgutreis:

Racing techniques 1.
Presentations:
Getting to know each other
Boat handling and basic task division
Communication styles and responsibilities
Preparation and trim main sail and jib
Theory spinnaker handling

Main structure of our program of the following days:
In Bodrum Peninsula the wind starts after 12 o'clock.
So the theory class in shore starts around 11:00 o'clock till 12:30 than we start the practical training around 13:30 and finish around 17:00-17:30
After each day we add some feed-back session about one hour.

Wednesday morning 26 September 11.00 hrs
Racing techniques 2 one 1/2 hour theory on board
Boat handling:
Tacking and Gybing
Gybing with spinnaker, Leeboard set, Gybe: End for end single sheets and Lee drop
13.30 – 17.00 Practical Racing with all of our boats an Olympic course/ or triangle
Wednesday before dinner 17- 18.00 hrs
At one of our ships, or ashore in saloon TBYC Turgutreis


Racing techniques 3. Presentations:
Feed back on task division and trim.
Strategy of wind and water
Rules and regulations Quiz

Thursday morning 27 September 11.00 at one of our boats, one 1/2 hour of theory
Racing techniques 4
Specific weather strategy and course preparation of today’s environment
13.30 – 17.00 Practical Racing with all of our boats an Olympic course/ or triangle
Thursday before dinner 17- 18.00 hrs
At one of our ships, or ashore in Turgutreis feedback:

Friday morning 28 September, at one of our boats one 1/2 hour of theory.

Friday afternoon or Saturday Registration race
17.00 – 18.00 Evaluation of racing Techniques

WELCOME TO INTERNATONAL WOMEN'S SAILING CUP 2007




It was in 2005, on a very important day" 8th of March" "International Women’s Day".
The idea was introduced for the first time by TBYC .

So that, the idea of "The international Women’s Sailing Cup" came to life first time in its category.

The women of the sailing world are WELCOME to participate this unique regatta of their own . . .

Dear Friends,


The time is passing by so quickly that It has been already 9 months since our first our International Women’s Sailing Cup 2006.


This year, our race will be between 28 September – 05. October 2007
Our pre-notice of race is ready.


You can read this on the “The notice of race” category in this blog.
The day bay day social events are not set yet but the route will be the same.
With the other works and in the very busy schedule of everyone, we are getting ready for the coming IWSC 2007.


I have set up this blog to be able to communicate with you all and also to write each other often.
So you will be able to have news, announcements here and you can also show to your friends or clubs that if any one are interested in.


This year, every team will organise their own boat.If you like to hire a boat from here, we can give you some address that youcan hire the boat.
I will inform this blog to all of our friends that everyone can visit and if they like be the member.
The membership is important if anyone who also like to write.
We need to get participants lists and the photographs with a short CV abouteach one again like we did last year.


If the crew is the same and we havealready the information and photographs, of course no need to send them again. But the new entries we ask to send us these details.
I will also inform you any updates or a news, through this blog.
I would also be happy to hear your good news and your preparetions for our unique women race . . .

” The first registrated boat for The Women’s Sailing Cup for 2007 is ELAN 1 !! “
“Elan 1 is the first registrated participant boat of this year. The skipper of the team Sharon SPINAT, has done her pre-regestrated her boat before she went back to Israel. Therefore, she and her team is the first registrated team and the boat.
